How To Take The Next Step - Meditation

In last week’s blog I wrote about taking life one step at a time. This week I bring you a meditation to help you with this process.

From a space of peace and relaxation I lead you through what it looks and feels like to take the next step in the process and how to let that step come to you if you don’t know what it is. Enjoy!

Hello,

I’d like to invite you to close your eyes and settle into this space and time we have together.

Starting to feel your body relax…

Taking the deepest breath you’ve taken yet today, inhaling deeply……and exhaling….letting it all go

Settling into a normal pattern of breathing and feeling the relaxation starting to flow through your body…

Nowhere to go, nothing to do, except be, in the present, very sacred moment…

Softening the brow……feeling your eyes getting heavier….feeling your jaw getting slack….softening the belly…

Dropping your shoulders down and back, feeling your arms getting heavier and your body settling in, more and more….

And as we’re relaxing, we release any heaviness or toxicity up into the light to be transmuted….and we ask that all beings of love and light surround us and bring through for us what is for our highest and best good and the highest and best good of all.

And now that we are in a settled, relaxed state, I want to remind you that it is normal for thoughts to come into your mind and when they do, you can just notice them, let them float by and come back to your breath. There is no right or wrong way to do this. Just let it be what it is and continue to come back to your breath…..

Noticing your inhale and your exhale as you listen to my voice…..

Now let me ask you to bring up a time or situation in which you may feel stuck about what to do or how to get started…

Feel the feelings…..just tune in to what is there for you….where do you feel it?

And once you feel it, let it flow through you, breathing into it, softening the area….relaxing…..

And now, bringing your attention back to the subject that came up for you….

Let’s imagine that you know what the next step is….we’re not concerned about the whole picture, just the very next step you can take….

And if you don’t know what it is, you can just breathe and ask yourself and see what comes up for you….

And as you sit with this, seeing what comes up for you, what your next step is….continue to breathe…..

And if thoughts of “Yeah, but, I don’t know what else to do, or this won’t work, etc” come up, just breathe….

Remember that life unfolds just as it’s supposed to….we get the information as we need it…it’s about faith and trust….

If resistance comes up as you hear this, breathe into it…it’s ok and it’s normal.

The secret to this is knowing that all is well, that if you have an idea of something you’d like to accomplish then it’s yours or you wouldn’t have had the thought. If it comes to you as an idea, then it’s meant for you.

Now knowing this, also know that it can unfold differently than you imagine, that’s where the magic happens….

So, trust this, if an idea comes to you, take the next step and pause…breathe, and know that the next step after that will present itself at the perfect time…..

This is the place in which you relax into the process…breathe…trust…know that all is unfolding as it should and you will be led by your higher self in each step of the process…..

Now, remember that this is an ongoing process, we take it step by step……and let it unfold…

And if you feel stuck again or need to remember….just come back to this meditation…it is always there for you…and remember that you only need to take the next step, you don’t need to know the entire path….

And now, as we slowly bring ourselves back, back to your body, hearing the sound of my voice and any sounds in the room around you, feeling the surface beneath you….

Slowly wiggling your fingers and toes….

Perhaps shrugging your shoulders or stretching in any way that feels good to you….

And whenever you’re ready, opening and closing your eyes….
