Meditation for Stillness

In this week’s meditation we’re going to play with what it feels like to be still and to connect with our intuition.

It’s an invitation to play with the stillness and notice what comes up for you.

I invite you to close your eyes and begin to settle in….

Starting off by taking the deepest breath you’ve taken yet today…..inhaling deeply…..and exhaling….letting it all go….

And now, settling into a normal pattern of breathing…

Letting everything go, feeling your body relaxing with each breath you take

Nowhere to go, nothing to do…..except to just be in this present moment

Feeling the surface beneath you…..hearing any sounds around you

And as we spend this time together, I invite you continue to bring your attention back to this moment, knowing that thoughts will come into your mind and when they do, just notice them, let them float by and come back to your breath…..

In our time together today we are going to practice the art of stillness and notice what rises up inside us…..

Taking a moment now and softening the brow….letting the forehead relax…..feeling the eyes getting heavy….

Letting the jaw go slack…..

And staying with yourself and your breath here for a bit…..breathing in and breathing out….

Letting your shoulders relax…..perhaps dropping them down and back….

Letting relaxation flow down your arms…through your hands….and out through your fingertips….

And staying with yourself in this moment and your breath…..breathing in….breathing out….

And now bringing your attention to your chest…..relaxing it….opening it…. Breathing….

Softening your belly….

And staying here in this moment for a bit….breathing in….breathing out…

Just noticing how your body feels…..letting any thoughts or feelings bubble up….

This place of quiet and relaxation is where your intuition lives….its where you have access to your internal guidance system…..and sometimes it can feel uncomfortable to be still….and I am here to tell you that it is so worth it…..

Breathing in….breathing out…..

Whenever thoughts float through, just notice and come back to your breath…..breathing in….and breathing out….

Noticing what feelings are coming up for you…..do you feel comfortable with the stillness…..do you feel anxious when things are quiet…..there is no right or wrong…..there just is…

And I invite you to remember this as you move through your days….taking time to check in with yourself…..to take the breath….to slow down and to tune in to what is true for you in the moment….and taking action if warranted from this place of knowing….or to be still if that is the guidance and to trust that what is meant to come through you will do so in its perfect time….trusting….knowing that you’ve got this….

Breathing in…..breathing out…..

And now slowly coming back to your body and to the room that you’re in….listening to the sound of my voice….hearing any sounds around you….feeling the surface beneath you….

Slowly wiggling fingers and toes….shrugging your shoulders or stretching in a way that feels good to you and ever slowly and only when you’re ready….opening and closing your eyes…
